Why Are How To’s So Hard?

Every time I sit down to write a ‘How To…” article, I freeze like a deer in headlights.  I get asked a lot, “How do I…?” so I sit down to write something and think, “Well, how do I write a list of How To’s  when I’m still figuring it out myself?”  It seems as though many bloggers feel pressure to have it all figured out, so that after writing one of THOSE articles, we don’t feel like we have the liberty to fall short of our own glory.  Well, let me be transparent enough to admit that I.DO.NOT. have it all figured out and certainly hope I don’t come off as one who does.

Some days I feel like that elementary school teacher who runs into a student at the grocery store with a cart full of wine and spirits.  Oops, how did all that liquor get in there?  I MUST have walked away with someone else’s cart.  Other days, especially on a Frugal Friday, I worry that I might run into a follower at Target only for her to see me holding onto a Grande Starbucks Peppermint Mocha with a death grip…not very frugal. Ahem…I digress.

So, as I delve into the world of “How To’s,” I ask for grace and support.  I’m quickly learning that it’s not easy to put myself out there, into the blogosphere and YouTube-osphere. As I map out each post, I am asking for participation from friends and followers.  Please don’t leave me to my own devices as that would be pretty limited.  I invite you to take personal ownership in these posts and contribute your nuggets of knowledge! Remember, we are better together! (See my most favorite poem about community, team work, and being better together, Redwoods from Hosanna Poetry!)

If you missed my post about knowing-it-all and perfectionism, “Let’s Lighten up a Little, Shall We?”, you can find it here.

God bless and have a wonderful week!
